Why do cockroaches keep coming back after I spray?
Supermarket sprays kill the cockroaches they touch but never reach the nest. Egg cases and the colony hidden behind appliances and inside cupboard voids survive, and the population rebuilds within weeks.
Professional gel baiting works the other way: the cockroaches carry the bait back to the harbourage, which is what ends the problem.
What are the red-brown cockroaches in my kitchen?
Small light-brown cockroaches in kitchens and bathrooms are usually German cockroaches, the fastest-breeding species in Melbourne homes.
They need a different approach to the larger roaches that come in from outside, which is why we identify the species before treating.
How long does cockroach treatment take to work?
